      I wonder if micro-targeting and algorithmic filter bubbles have gotten to the point that they are starting to shape the views of individual politicians.

      It’s hard to comprehend a politician who completely ignores the outcome of the last election, the worldwide loathing of Trump and the worldwide backlash and decides to go down this path.

We were told that the [no](https://www.afr.com/politics/federal/voice-no-vote-will-damage-australia-s-standing-bishop-20230828-p5e00j) vote in the [Voice](https://michaelwest.com.au/stuck-in-a-colonial-past-the-world-condemns-australias-no-vote-on-the-voice/) referendum and treatment of visa holders during [Covid](https://www.smh.com.au/national/so-australia-wants-to-welcome-migrants-again-good-luck-with-that-20211021-p591te.html)would damage our reputation but not much has come of either: I don’t think a speech by the unpopular leader of a flailing opposition is going to get people in Mumbai, Islamabad, Manilla, Sao Paulo, Brussels, Lagos, Dallas, Osaka, Vancouver, Manchester, Moscow or Tianjin upset.

      They’re scared because of the seats they lost to ONP in SA. So they throw out stuff like this to appease the facebook conservatives and try to draw them back. They just don’t realise that doesn’t represent most Australians. Even as a labor/greens voter, I’m questioning why they aren’t trying to appease the larger segment of the country?

      Moving right to combat One Nation is farcical. Pauline can keeping dredging up increasingly cooked people with even more cooked opinions, because they don’t have to be an alternate government.

      You could be mistaken for thinking Angus has been reading about ICE during question time. This is out of Trump’s playbook.

      Angus would do well to run social media checks on his colleagues instead to keep ahead of the knife.
