A solitary Mattsson strike on the 30th minute decided a tense match, leaving Ukraine with zero points and a must-win fixture in the final group game.

The Ukrainian women’s U-19 national team suffered their second defeat in the group stage of the Euro 2026 qualifying, losing to Sweden 0-1.

The only goal of the match was scored in the 30th minute by Mattsson.

Yellow cards: Shyostrem received a yellow in the 21st minute, Ivanchenko in the 65th, Selin in the 78th.

In the previous round, the Ukrainian side lost to Italy 0-2.

The Ukrainian U-19 women’s team competes in Group A5 alongside Italy, Sweden, and the Netherlands. The group winner will qualify for the Euro 2026 U-19 Women’s Championship, to be held in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

After two rounds, Sweden leads with 6 points; the Netherlands and Italy follow with 3 points each, Ukraine has 0.

In the final round, the blue-and-yellow team will face the Netherlands on April 17 at 19:00.
