Power Couple is heading into a 10th season in Hungary
Power Couple, the unscripted relationship format from Israel’s Dori Media, has secured renewals in Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria as it continues its global expansion.
RTL Hungary has renewed its local version for a 10th season, while Romania’s Antena has greenlit a fourth season and Bulgaria’s Nova has ordered a seventh.
According to Dori Media, the format has now been adapted in 25 territories, including Germany, Brazil, India, Mexico and US Hispanic, with Yellow Film in Finland also recently licensing it. In total, 1,250 episodes of the format have now been produced globally over 70 seasons.
Power Couple, which was created by Fremantle-owned Israeli prodco Abot Hameiri and developed in collaboration with Dori Media, sees couples who are confident in themselves and believe in their relationship getting the chance to turn that confidence into cash.
A 24/7 version of the format was commissioned by Televisa/Univision’s platforms in US Hispanic and Mexico, with the first season (titled ¿Apostarías por mí? and produced by Fremantle Mexico) concluding last month with strong ratings.
“We are truly proud of the growth of Power Couple globally and so excited that our new 24/7 version has gotten off to such a strong start in the US Hispanic and Mexican markets with our partners at Televisa/Univision,” said Dori Media CEO Nadav Palti.
“This format has been tremendously successful with celebrity and non-celebrity editions and now we are very excited to expand our Power Couple offering to include this new 24/7 version which can play across broadcast, cable, streaming and digital platforms.”
