The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) announces that a total of 40 polling stations would be opened in 12 localities across Moldova, for the new local elections and local referendums due on May 17, 2026.
According to the CEC, most of the polling stations will be organized in the Orhei municipality, where voters will have 15 polling stations at their disposal. In the town of Taraclia, six stations will be opened, while in the village of Costesti (Ialoveni district) and the village of Copceac (UTA Gagauzia) there will be four polling stations each.
In addition, three stations will be organized in the commune of Rusestii Noi (Ialoveni district), and two stations in the village of Mascauti (Criuleni district). In other localities – Topala (Cimislia district), Plop (Donduseni district), Frumusica (Floresti district) and Saratenii Vechi (Telenesti district) – one polling station will operate in each locality.
For the local referendums, one polling station will be opened in the commune of Sadac (Cantemir district) and in the village of Hasnasenii Mari (Drochia district).
The new local elections and local referendums will take place on May 17, 2026.
