I was watching a gentleman on abcnews who went to the studio with a burnt aluminum sheet and a piece of stone wool and said “There is no polyester, take it, burn this material and see if it catches fire or not”. Well, the cholesterol has not been burned. If you watch the videos from the beginning of the fire, it is clear that the flames are behind the aluminum sheet. So the problem is not the aluminum sheets but the material in between.
Curiosity did not leave me alone and I did some research. We are talking about ACM (Aluminum Composite Material), which is two sheets of aluminum with a core material in between that can be polyethylene (PE), fire-retardant (FR) or A2 (the most fire-resistant material used for buildings higher than 18m).
Arlis Construction claims that the material used for the facade of the building is Alucobond A2 s1. This S1 shows that in case of fire very little smoke is created. I believe you all saw with your own eyes how much smoke was created. So the first thing that indicates that Alucobondi was not A2S1.
They said that there was no explanation why it caught fire so easily. But the core of the facade itself is made for the purpose of enabling air circulation and rain drainage. So, the added oxygen from the ventilation features of the facade facilitated the progress of the fire.
In the documents of Alucobond, I found several cases mentioned by myself that show the drifts caused by the use of ACM facades with different materials. The value of the heat released by burning the facade increases from A2, in Alucobond Plus to ACM PE (which is more flammable). Now let the experts tell us, is the incident at the Arlis Construction building similar to the first photo (where polyethylene was used) or to the third photo (where Alucobond Plus was used)? So the second reason why I think Alucobond A2 is NOT used.
Alucobondi performs 3 tests against fire, one of which is BS8414 (tests the material in case of fire in high-rise buildings). The only material that passes the test with the most positive results is AlucobondA2. But the reality is that this test does not match what happened. Another reason why A2 was not used.
They said that the insulation of the building is made of stone wool, which as we know is resistant to fire. But not in all cases. In case stone wool is in contact with materials that introduce oxygen, it is easily combustible, and these materials are fluorinated ethylene vinyl ether (FEVE), super-durable polyester (SDP), siliconized polyester (SMP) that are found in the external coating of the facade (plastic that covers aluminum).
We all saw with our own eyes what happened and no one can deny it. A non-flammable material, but the firefighters could not put it out. A non-flammable material, but destroyed more than 30 apartments. A material that does not catch fire, but the truth is that it caught fire more easily than paper.
These are some infos that I found that throw down what they told us in the media to protect a major mistake made by the engineers of the construction company. I’m classifying these as opinions because I don’t want to spread misinformation. Thank you for your attention who read to the end.

Alucobond eshte nje brand dhe ska lidhje me ate qe nxorri ndertuesi ne foto, qe ishte Saraybond. Por e njejta gje jane.
Dukshem qe materiali nuk ishte A2, por nuk eshte vetem ajo qe u dogj. Pervec saj kishte dhe nje shtrese izoluese leshi guri(A1) dhe nje membrane hidroizoluese(e cila ishte e djegshme, dhe ne gjykimin tim ka qene ajo e cila e ka perhap zjarrin me se pari.
Nuk e perjashtoj qe sidomos katet e para mund te kishin edhe spray foam(super i djegshem). E di me siguri qe ndertesa ngjitur me kete qe morri flake eshte izoluar me spray foam ne vend te leshit te gurit. Do ishte tragjedi me e madhe nese do merrte flake ajo.

Keto perdoren vetem me kapot dhe me barriera zjarri qe te kontrollohet dhe mos perhapet se flak merr cdo gje. Keto duan te bejn pallate luksoze ne dukje, ta benin me kapot dhe grafiato nuk do digjej fare ose max jo kaq.
