She fails to defend is a more accurate statement. There is no justification for this, having openly partisan officials draw the maps after rejecting the non-partisan (not bipartisan as the article states, shame an CTV for publishing that falsehood) map is insane.
We need to stop sanewashing disturbing political tactics. We need to stop this descent to American style politics, it has gone so poorly for them and we cannot allow it.

There is no defense for it. This is disgusting. An attack on democracy. This is extremely dangerous if it’s allowed to go through, if it’s allowed to spread. Conservatives are importing more and more from the US. Rhetoric, healthcare, “democracy”. This must be stopped.
