Any chance either the Rebels or the Govt might collapse anytime soon

I do wonder if Rakhine State could survive as an independent country due to its access to the ocean.
The treatment of the Muslim Rohingya minority by the Buddhist Arakanese majority would still probably be a major issue though.

The West failed the rebels.
Since China increased their support for the junta the tide of the war completely turned in their favour from what I’ve heard.
It’s sad that the self proclaimed progressive have been shilling for the CCP so much lately.

They have been in a sort or another of a civil war since 1950s.
Also those are the groups who have some sort of authority in a piece of land , if you see all the groups they are like some hundreds.

the military really did doom this country with their coup

I actually did a presentation on this in school recently. We were allowed to pick any modern or Cold War conflict, so I picked this one.
Basically, the red faction in the central plains and coast is the Tatmadaw, the military Junta. They took power in a coup 2021. Their goal is to consolidate dictatorial control over the country, and essentially make it a Burmese-controlled state (the Burmese is one of many ethnic groups, with slightly more than half the population). They’re also significantly backed by China, which has provided them with tons of modern weaponry.
The light green faction ”people’s defence force” is the democratic resistance, formed by the elected government. The rest of all these factions are a variety of ethnic militias. These factions are based in rural, mountainous, jungle regions. Most of them have been fighting guerilla war on and off since independence in 1948. These militias have formed a coalition with the democratic resistance against the military. The goal is a democratic Myanmar with autonomy and protection for the many minorities.
Right now I think the military is winning somewhat. They’ve taken over large parts of the country and crushed much active resistance. But they aren’t fully able to defeat the guerillas in the jungles and mountains. But neither are the guerillas able to defeat the military conventionally

The blockade in Iran surely changes things in Myanmar, since the Junta relies on air power. The fuel shortages aren’t good for both civilians and military

They’ve been in conflict with themselves since they became independent. I really wish that the conflict will end someday.
