The goal of the Fargo-Moorhead Icelandic Klub (FMIK) Scholarship Program is to create or sustain interest in the Icelandic heritage of young adults. FMIK is offering two options for a total of two $1,000 scholarships.

Applicants may be: 1) post-secondary students entering their sophomore year or above in the fall of 2026 or 2) persons who are participating in the 2026 Snorri Program, a study program which offers a unique experience of the country of Iceland, its nation, culture and nature. Whether the two scholarships are awarded to college students or Snorri participants will depend on the number and quality of the applications.

To be eligible for either scholarship, the applicant must be of Icelandic heritage and be a graduate of a North Dakota or Minnesota high school. For the student scholarship, the applicant must be enrolled for the 2026-27 school year as sophomore or above at a college or university. For the Snorri Program scholarship, the applicant must plan to participate in the summer of 2026 and be willing to share experiences with FMIK.

The deadline for applications is May 15, 2026. The scholarship recipients will be announced in June. For more information, contact Linda Palmer at 325 13th St. N, Wahpeton, ND 58075, or call 701-899-0872.
