  1. Let’s hope Moldova gets some of them monies back, at least an amount equal to what’s being spent on these trials.

  2. Just to put this into perspective, $1 billion was roughly 12% of Moldova’s entire GDP at the time. Imagine stealing 12% of your country’s entire economy. Absolutely wild

I just don’t understand the desire to have such massive amounts of money. I could understand having founded a successful company and the value of that company to go to the moon, making you even richer. But to actively seek out even more riches even through illegal means, even though you already have so much money that you couldn’t spend it all even if you wanted to. What’s the point? So you could have couple of billions more? What are you going to do with that money?

  4. amateur, the Matolcsy family in Hungary stole twice that amount from the National Bank and fucked off to Dubai with it even though everyone has known of it for a decade

While a good thing overall, this guy is most probably just the tip of the iceberg and has just been scapegoated.

  7. Put in perspective how much Trump and his family has made with his various scams and they are all free and not even under investigation

  8. Ok, he took 40 million of the 1 billion. Who took the rest? How many people are involved in this theft?
