Two people were intended to be killed for terrorist purposes, including Bartkevičius: 13 suspects

The Lithuanian Criminal Police Office and the General Prosecutor’s Office, conducting a wide-scale pre-trial investigation and actively cooperating with the Department of State Security and international partners, prevented the planned murders of two persons in Lithuania.

During the pre-trial investigation, a complex international criminal scheme was clarified, which included the illegal collection of information about a person’s private life, preparing to kill two persons for terrorist purposes, participation in and leadership of an organized terrorist group, as well as recruitment for terrorist activities, financing and support of terrorist activities, and going to the Republic of Lithuania for terrorist purposes.

During the pre-trial investigation, it was also established that the individuals acted with terrorist goals. They may have collected data on military infrastructure, and may have participated in the organization of setting fire to military equipment intended to support Ukraine, etc. These actions were planned and coordinated as part of a wider terrorist activity.
