I would very much like to see this contrasted with current sentiments. Not that I think it would provide insight, more so for my own vindication.
Otherwise, this kind of feels like nothing. Like, in a tribal system of course you’re going to be happy when your side “wins.”

Admittedly, 2024 was just a disappointing election cycle in general if you were a democrat. You just see your own party keep shooting themselves in the foot while the republican candidate despite obviously being an absolutely terrible person kept winning. Not to mention all of the outside factors like Ukraine and AI taking peoples jobs.

He didn’t win. He stole. Not that that isn’t a victory for him. Just sayin

This study is cherry-picking the absolute despair dems felt when a genuinely evil and incompetent man was reelected after the whole Jan 6 thing and then conclude that it means that dems are as tribal and conspiratorial as republicans. That is not true. Trump is fairly unique in just how awful he truly is, and that skews results.
Dems are losing faith in institutions because institutions completely failed to protect them. Now no one is safe, but republicans get to delude themselves.
