The recently published salary table by the Ministry of Finance provides an overview of how much Estonian public sector employees get paid and who competes at the top of the rankings.

“It doesn’t fit into the world view of many people, but people in Estonia have started to aspire to public service with the words that they want something for their country, even though the salary is lower in government work. It is also lower in all educational and professional levels compared to the private sector, but although the private sector also contributes to our country, of course, we should appreciate more the nobility with which the country is directly served. The quality of our public sector deserves it,” said Finance Minister Jürgen Ligi.

What do you think about salaries in the public sector and how do you earn compared to the top earners in the public sector?
It is interesting to see how Viimsi with 22,000 inhabitants and Harku with 17,000 inhabitants have such a long series of highly paid assistant mayors. Somewhere else in the country, it would be a village that would be led by one village elder and his assistant, who, among other things, would certainly not earn 3x the national average salary. But well… In Estonia, village elders are compared to the heads of top companies.

Kuradi loll rahvas oleme ikka…
Kokkuvõttes tavainimesel raske hinnata, töökoormust ja vastutust me ju tegelikult ei tea. Mõned neist on koguaeg “sõidus”, vabu nv eriti pole, pidev stress jne. Mõned ei saa avalikus kohas rahulikult käia jne. Siin ikka palju nüansse mida see kõrge palk tegelikult endas sisaldab. Et mõni tagasihoidlikum inimene võib vabalt eelistada 3k ja rahulikku elu kui teaks kõike keberniiti, mis näiteks 8k ametiga kaasneb
Nende vallavalitsuse liikmete kõrged palgad kõrvale jättes, ainuke, kelle palganumbri suurus küsimärke tekitab, on president. Mis mõttes saab ta rohkem palka, kui kohtute juhid või valitsuse juht? See peaks olema maksimaalselt võrdne peaministriga, ja isegi siis tundub see palju imo. Eriti arvestades muid hüvesid, mis selle positsiooniga kaasnevad.
Eesti suuremate börsifirmade juhid teenivad 20-50 tuhat kuus, sellega võrreldes on riigi tippjuhtide palgad kesised.
Avalik sektor erineb erasektorist selle poolest, et ametnikutel igal tasandil puudub vastutus. Viimasel ajal kuuleme ainult ametnike apsakatest. Ja ainult üks ametnik on karistatud hasartmänguseaduses tehtud trükivea eest.
Ei tea jah millega nad tegelevad. Iga kord kui kirjutada taotluste ja muude asjadega siis oota vastust 2 kuud. Ja sellist palka selle eest.
Valus on veidi näha Järvani palka. Sellist tolgust küll ükski eraettevõte antud numbritega tööle ei võtaks. Õnneks teenin ise rohkem, saan öösel magada rahulikult.

Mis topid oma nina teiste rahakotti, mine tee odavamalt ja paremini siis.
Üldiselt viletsamad palgad kui erasektoris. Ma ei ole kuskil juhtival positsioonil, vaid tavaline liinitöötaja, ja ainult üksikud saavad seal minust rohkem. Enamus ilmselt on pigem asjalikud inimesed ja teevad tegelt rasket tööd, mis ei ole üheksast viieni, vaid mis on paljudel juhtudel 24/7. Aga eks seal nimistus ole ka täielikke pooletoobiseid, kellele on häbi nii palju maksta.
Kõrgete ametnike palgad on kõrged osalt ka seepärast, et vähendada korruptsiooni. Kuidas Jaapanis teil seal palgad on?
Suurem osa ametnikke on korralikud töömesilased. Ja nad ei saa ulme kõrget palka.
1800-2700 on sellise tavalise spetsialisti palk. Ministeeriumis, juristid, juhid jms magistrihariduse või muude oskustega ametnikud 2700-4000. Üle selle juba tippjuhi masti tegelased. No ei ole palju.
Ainuke kust võib kinni haarata on poliitilised nõunikud, kes võetakse tutvuste kaudu tööle aga omast kogemusest võin öelda, et ega see väga tore töö ei ole. Käid nv üritustel, vastad igal hetkel küsimustele, ajad kogu aeg infot kokku… oled nagu sibi.
No vaadake neid Keskkonnaameti palku. Teevad ausat tööd. Võib ju vaielda, kas seda tööd üldse keegi peaks tegema, aga kui on otsustatud, et keegi teeb, siis suht lahja palk. Paljudel mag haridus jne. Palk 1700? 1900? Suht vähe ikka.
