negotiating autonomy with the Azawad seems like a good idea to split the opposition. Of course this is what the French were advocating for ten years ago (and even managed to get the FLA to support the then-government) so you can be sure this won’t be adopted as policy.
What next? A massive increase in Wagner presence could stabilise the conflict but russia needs every man and vehicle in ukraine these days as recruitment drops below monthly casualties.
Calling back MINUSMA seems almost as unlikely as calling back the French.
An African Union mission? (busy in Somalia) A ECOWAS mission? MAli and Co left that. Burkina Faso and Niger aren’t really in much position to help either.
