Clica, a startup that optimizes the distribution of artificial intelligence (AI) models, announced on the 4th that it participated in the global defense and security exhibition “Millipole TechX” held in Singapore from the 28th to the 30th of last month.

Klica participated in the exhibition through the results of being selected for Hatch, a government-supported program under Singapore’s Home Team Science and Technology Administration (HTX) in 2024.

Clica introduced the “AI Patrol Vehicle Project,” a security mobility solution that is being developed in collaboration with the Korean National Police Agency and setting up a booth at the Hatch Program Joint Hall.

The AI patrol car that Klika participated in the development is characterized by integrating AI technology into Kia Motors’ purpose-based vehicle (PBV) model, “PV5,” to help police work. It is equipped with on-site safety functions such as real-time identification of weapons through high-resolution cameras, automatic alarms, crowd density, fire and smoke detection, and recognition of fallen citizens.

In this project, Clica is in charge of using its AI model compression and distribution technology to enable high-performance AI functions to run in real-time in a limited environment called patrol cars. By reducing the weight of the vast AI model, it is possible to operate stably without delay even in vehicle devices that lack computational resources.

The Clica booth at the exhibition was visited by CHAN CHAN, CEO of HTX Singapore, and Niamh Lena, CEO of DSO National Laboratory, and security officers from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and India showed interest in AI patrol car technology, Clica explained.

After securing government agencies in the U.S., Australia, and Singapore as customers, we will further accelerate our targeting of public safety AI markets in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East with this exhibition, said Kim Na-yul, co-chairman of Clica.
