Whats an illegal immigrant? Would that be like interning an undocumented Irish man in the US?

I was hoping Hutch wouldn’t go down the far right grifter road. He avoided it during his first election run. The fact he’s an immigrant himself and one that has been tackled to the ground and arrested and spent time in a foreign prison might have had something to do with that, rather than his actual beliefs.

He’s completely clueless.
Mass immigration through legal means is the biggest cause of demand in the Irish housing market.
This in turn causes demand based price inflation due to housing scarcity.

How many illegal immigrants are resident in Ireland that this is even something a person is going to campaign on?
From what I’m seeing from a Google search there are basically fuck all “illegal immigrants” in Ireland, like barely in the 1000s level of fuck all.
I can only assume it plays well with the ignorant bigot crowd who only really care about “foreigners out” and he knows that any support for him is to be found in those quarters.

I think people will get a shock with hutch. It’s easy to write him off as a loo-la, but I’d say most of dublins north inner city will vote for him, for no other reason than he’s from the north inner city. And despite his criminal past, if he hits the talking points that the fringe elements are glued to, anti immigrants being one of, they’ll all throw their support behind him to , ehm, protect women and children from, *checks notes* criminals.
I personally think being on the run from CAB for years living in Málaga or wherever he was, should disqualify you from politics, but that’s not the world we live in unfortunately.

You have to wonder if there’s a script going around for the grift. Is the rise in far right funded by foreign actors? Or do they all know they can get a few bob from the grift?

Thank you Mr. Hutch. As an Indian, it pains me to see the increasing hate towards Indians. I never expected that support will come from a criminal politician. The regular politicians have been too quiet and do not give a fuck.

One of the biggest babies to ever run for a seat in this country. He turned a fairly benign exit interview into a panic attack. He reached the limit of his intelligence after 0.2 seconds. A big drawback to being a scary criminal is that those around you are less likely to point out that you’re thick as shit. There’s nothing more dangerous than a violent man who thinks he’s clever.
The man isn’t competent enough to inflate a balloon at a kids party, let alone hold political office. Can you imagine him in the Dail? Cringing just at the thought.

Sounds like Mr Hutch’s immigration policy is exactly the same as everyone’s elses, except he’d provide food for them directly instead if giving them money to buy it and make it for themselves
…. so is he actually more compassionate than Jim O’Callaghan?
Unless, for some reason, you happen to be from Somalia, in which case he is proposing straight up racism.

That headline is so misleading to what is in the article.
Irish media is shockingly corrupt.
This is what is in the article. If anything, it’s a dig at Irish people. Not immigrants.
“Mr Hutch said that “genuine people” seeking work are needed in Ireland, arguing that Irish people have “gone too posh” and do not want their children “working in McDonald’s”.
“We need foreign nationals coming in for them jobs, whether we like it or not. We are gone too posh.”

Internment is a very emotive issue in Ireland and morally wrong. Picking on Somalis to be interned because they are from Somalia is super-racist. I remember people from certain parts of Belfast being interned because of where they were from. Hutch should be able to remember this. His supporters need to think about who they are trying to put into the Dáil.
