Agreement between Lithuania’s governing coalition and opposition is rare, but about 50 lawmakers have joined forces on a proposal to hold an advisory referendum on defining the concept of family in the Constitution.

I will never understand people who can’t ever just live and let live. It’s not enough for them to have the Constitution already prohibiting same sex marriages – they also need to take away the notion of “family” from people that don’t follow their shitty “tRaDiTiOnAl” dogmas.

What an absolutely miserable asshole you have to be to dedicate your time and effort to deprive people who don’t affect you in any way whatsoever of their constitutional right to be called a family even after the Constitutional Court has already ruled on this subject?

The referendum that has no power and is useless.
Even one of organiser have said, that they wont give a fuck if people have a different oppinion.

Well this is a good sign for anyone non-heterosexual to find less bigoted country to live in.

This is just embarrassing. The government has no business defining what a family is. Family is something deeply personal and individual.

A referendum that has no power and is nothing more than state-sponsored poll to increase voter turnout in the local elections in 2027.
