Am I the only person who finds it really disturbing a man took a sledge hammer to a woman’s spine – and it took her months to recover.

And everyone, including the guilty Palestine Action people thinks that ok “cos Palestine”?

    2. Lovely stuff, hope that wet lad who attacked a female police officer with a sledgehammer from behind has a proper awful time of it in prison.

It is curious that some in the comments have started talking about the proscription of Palestine Action that happened in July 2025, when this attack at the Elbit property happened in August 2024. Seems some are unfamiliar with the concept of ‘ex post facto’ law…

It is also important to understand the distinction between acts of Terrorism as a specific offence, vs offences as defined under the terrorism act.

    4. >Corner was also found guilty of inflicting grievous bodily harm after striking Sgt Kate Evans twice with a sledgehammer, fracturing her spine.

Absolutely disgusting person he is, cowardly attack.

I’m generally prepared to be well-disposed to nonviolent direct activists, even when I don’t agree with the actions they’ve taken, because at least they are trying to engage with the world, and make things better, even when they miss the mark.

This lot, however, I’m glad they’ve been convicted. They aren’t (and have never claimed to be) nonviolent, and even if you look away from them hitting another human being with a sledgehammer in the back while she was prone on the ground (which I can’t, it’s so awful), they seem to have been so woefully underprepared about what might reasonably happen when they were caught that they were reckless about their own and other people’s safety.

As it turns out admitting you struck a police officer who you knew was a police officer with a sledgehammer which you admitted in court you knew would cause them serious injury because they were carrying out a lawful arrest on your colleague and you admitted you wanted to stop them is not a great way to convince a jury you are not a derange psychopath

Sorry to detract boys but er, did anyone ever get done for Grenfell in the end or did that just become our Epstein Files? What about the Post Office Scandal?

I mean yeah this sledgehammer guy is an obvious walking lengthy prison sentence but damn. 72 people got murdered on live TV and a thousand people got wrongly persecuted by the long arm of the law but I don’t hear about anyone hanging from the gallows over that. What’s going on?

Right verdict, I’d consider myself pro-Palestine but also one who believes in justice and reconciliation for Palestinians and Israelis, these lot are just criminals who dress up their criminality and thuggery in the language of something ‘noble’.

The court previously heard that the group, dressed in red jumpsuits, used a decommissioned prison van to crash into security shutters at the Elbit site, armed with tools.

When the police showed up they decided to smash an officers spine with a sledgehammer…

He told his trial it “seemed reasonable to do something” after he heard one of his fellow activists screaming

      Uh huh….

This is what happens when posh/sheltered kids that have never been in the real world get too hyped up on their own sense of justice.

Good riddance. Welcome to real life kid. Good luck

    11. The mum of one of the girls arrested is a complete grifter on Twitter insisting her little angel did nothing wrong

The sentencing here will be interesting. Criminal damage has a max of 10 years in prison (for reference the Sycamore Gap tree guys got 4½ years each). The GBH charge won’t add much if anything because the max is 5 years (because he was found not guilty of the more serious charge).

      > Corner was also found guilty of inflicting grievous bodily harm after striking Sgt Kate Evans twice with a sledgehammer, fracturing her spine.

      > He was cleared of the more serious offence of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Wtf? How was there no intent? The scumbag attacked the police officer TWICE with a SLEDGEHAMMER.

    14. EloquenceInScreaming on

The courts got this one right. Guilty of criminal damage and GBH, not guilty of terrorism.

    15. This is what should have happened in the first place, not the ridiculous proscription of the whole group.
