If ceasefire is unilateral, it can only be broken by the side who declares it.

Dear Ukraine, please give them fireworks over the Red Square on the 9th.

    3. SmugCapybara on

I mean, Russia never agreed to this ceasfire in any way, shape or form. Zelensky can declare that Ukraine will stop shooting, and then not shoot, but that doesn’t bind Russia in any way.

Look, fuck Russia, go Ukraine, but this isn’t Russia breaking a ceasfire, this is the war continuing as usual.

    4. Some people in the comments don’t seem to have the full context. This is about the unilateral ceasefire Russia declared for May 9th. It’s silly to have Russia be able to declare timeout whenever it feels like it, so this is allowing Ukraine to say “we declared a unilateral ceasefire and you kept firing at us so don’t expect us to follow your unilateral ceasefires”.

To the surprise of no one lol. At least we can expect fireworks at the parade.

As someone who unfortunately lives in Moscow, can’t wait to see the fireworks, cuz I know for a fact people’s reactions will be absolutely priceless.

Let’s hope that the parade is covered by so many Russian anti aircraft batteries that Ukraine can pick and choose what targets they will turn into rubble.

To be frank, neither side is respecting the ceasefire. There are plenty of videos to prove it.

Check from selling oil to China just cleared, they wanted to test the latest batch of drones.

    10. It’s like the kids that say “time out” during a snowball fight so that they can make another snowball, aim and say “ok, go!”

I hope the 9th parade has a lot of fireworks.

To all people who wants bombing of parade: it makes little sense to do so. It will be guarded, parade will have little to none military targets worth destroying and it will not even affect morale and propaganda beliefs that much since it’s below low already.

It will make much more sense to just allow Russia to keep their eyes on fasade parade and bomb more infrastructure inside Russia to cripple their economy even more.

Russia either wants Ukraine to attack during the victory parade in Moscow or could be planning a false flag operation to justify mass mobilization. Lets see how it goes.

Honest question : did Ukraine respect the ceasfire ?
As far as I know they did significant damage in Russia overnight, which seems to violate the ceasfire much more than those attacks that happened BEFORE it was in effect. So what gives ?

Seems Russia has something in common with Israel.
Both seem to think a ceasefire means you cease while they fire.

    15. Spare-Pace4283 on

First sentence in the article: “strikes came just hours before a unilaterally proposed Ukrainian ceasefire”.

My head hurts trying to keep up with the media

Got a JDAM to spare for red square? But realistically, sounds like oil refinery day to me

    17. Prediction:

Spend all week threatening to rain on the parade, watch all the air defense get moved to the parade, instead attack every bit of military and oil infrastructure that is now undefended, and maybe that troublesome bridge.

This is my hometown in the photo… These monsters did a double tap – they hit the same spot again specifically when the rescuers and medics arrived to help, just to maximize the casualties. Absolute scumbags.

this just set an precedence for ukraine to bomb the shit out of russias military parade.
