**Exclusive**: Figures obtained by *The Independent* show police forces received 738 reports of people carrying knives or sharp instruments in schools last year
If kids bring weapons to school, kick them out of school and prosecute their parents for child neglect.

I imagine a lot of these kids are carrying knives for self defence reasons, and there’s a lot of gang violence, bullying, peer pressure, lack of policing etc.
If you stop & search a kid and he has a knife, lets say he’s arrested and imprisoned for a year. All that happens is he gets involved with a gang on the inside, or makes friends with other criminals, and you irreversibly put him on the path of criminality which is the one thing you don’t want.
Could you automatically refer them into the armed forces instead of prison? So like, you get caught carrying a knife at 16 and you’re prosecuted. When you finish your education, whether that be university or college, or secondary school at 16, your immediately shipped off to national service for one year? You get to shoot guns, play with knives, but to be honest, you’re more likely to be rehabilitated in a positive way with discipline, meet people who are a positive influence on you, and you may even find a career path and social status within the armed forces that you crave?

It would be nearly impossible to stop kids getting knifes, ie kitchen ones but It’s far too easy to get hold of weapons online.
There’s several UK websites that sell every kind of fully functional knife /sword /axe /crossbow etc you can think off, easy to get around age restrictions.
These are not toy items used for display purposes like film replica of He -mans sword
Not entirely sure why someone would need to buy real samurai sword for instance / giant machete / us marine combat knife unless your planning on going to war.
must be some knife collecting nutters here down voting lol

Is there an actual reason why England hasn’t followed Scotland’s lead on knife crime? We more or less put a lid on it.

Stop kids listening to gangster rap and taking part in subcultures that glamorise knife crime and other violence.

If I had a kid wouldn’t ever go near a state school. Home schooling or private.

There’s a 20% tax on keeping your kids away from people wielding knives coming up

Knife crime seems to be a bigger issue in England compared to other parts of the UK? I’m surprised given how culturally similar the 4 territories are. Like I couldn’t imagine someone bringing a knife to school.

Clearly what we need to do is give all the teachers a knife, only a good person with a knife can stop a bad person with a knife…
But seriously change in government can’t come quickly enough
