Maynooth University is seeking applications for a full-time Assistant Professor / Lecturer in Creative Writing in the Department of English.
The post will involve teaching and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including on the BA in Creative Writing and English and the MA in Creative Writing. Duties will also include postgraduate supervision, curriculum development, administrative work, and contributing to the Department’s creative writing profile.
Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant discipline or approximately ten years’ relevant professional experience. They should have a record of creative writing publication for adults, experience teaching creative writing, experience supervising graduate students, and administrative, organisational, teamwork and communication skills.
Salary: Assistant Professor / Lecturer €65,401–€103,564 p.a.; Assistant Lecturer €42,599–€72,718 p.a. The appointment is expected to begin in September 2026.
