Meet Susana Pascoal who is the new face fronting WIRE Portugal, an association representing ladies in property in Portugal.
The new president, who is director of Marketing at Victoria Seguros, heads the body that is dedicated to networking and projecting the visibility of women in the real estate, estate agency and construction sectors in the country.
Susana had already sat on the board of WIRE and says “there is still a long way to go, but the opportunities for women to make their mark and have an impact on the sector are real and we are determined to make the most of opportunities”, said the new president.
The appointment coincides with an organisational restructuring of WIRE Portugal. The position of Founding President has been created, assumed by Filipa Arantes Pedroso, and a new Strategic Council has been established. The remaining members of the board – Patrícia Barão, Diana Nigra, Margarida Caldeira, Andrea Ferreira, and Carlota Varela Cid – remain in their positions, continuing the work developed in the previous term.
Victoria Seguros’ connection to the real estate and construction sector is not new. The company, whose shareholder is the SMABTP Group – an insurer in the construction sector in France – is a strategic partner, developing specific solutions for this market.
Founded in 2022 with 19 members, Wire Portugal brings together women in leadership and management positions in real estate and construction, focusing on networking initiatives, training, and promoting female representation. By 2023, it already had more than 40 members and many more today.
