    1. They will destroy themselves and the Country along with it. Reform surely cannot believe their luck with this.

I hope the rebels are remembered and held accountable for the damage they cause at a local level.

    2. DarthAnusCavity on

Imagine watching the Tories destroy themselves doing this and then think, we should probably follow.
How about instead get together and focus on making everyone’s life better rather than endless infighting, as guess what? When the next person takes over they will come for you next.

    3. Necessary-Product361 on

Two have now quit. One of them was (untill a few minutes ago) the PPS to Wes Streeting. I wonder if this is Streeting making maneuvers?

    4. NoTitleChamp on

Absolute clowns. They have learnt nothing from the Tories musical chairs. Hopefully other MPs have more sense.

    5. Awesome just what the UK needs yet another PM after a 2 year stint.

Man utd have had less managers

    6. MouldyEjaculate on

Haha woohoo yay I can’t wait to see Farage fail upwards into the big chair weee (This is sarcasm and everything is awful)

It’s funny knowing that the worst leaders in the world like Trump, Putin, Elon Musk, Farage etc. who thrive on chaos and design politics around chaos get zero accountability, and aren’t expected to step down despite multiple scandals, war crimes, bribes, environmental destruction, and oligarchic manipulation of social media.

Meanwhile, Starmer can’t even get on with the day job, without coming under fire over everything.

Starmer seems to have lost his authority and credibility a bit, but his government also gets habitually attacked by bad-faith actors invested in chaos.

As well as the media who profits from this, and different groups of voters who want contradictory things.

Get on with the day job. Or don’t, plunge Labour into chaos and hand the country over to a horrific Reform government 👍

So self-indulgent, it’s just sad to see.

    8. Salty-Bid1597 on

The Labour Party spent the last 10 years watching the Tories punch themselves in the face repeatedly and thought “I want some of that”.

    9. Astoran_Knight on

These two are just parliamentary private secretaries, so let’s see if a bigger name resigns, right?

    10. Clearly Starmer quitting now would strengthen Reform? Standing as 1 now is critical. Rather than self imploding.

    11. Not supporting him here, but it this what politics will be now, musical chairs in number 10.

    12. anybloodythingwilldo on

Siigh who needs stability at this time of national and international turmoil.

    13. Feeling_Pen_8579 on

We are governed by idiots, but worse, cowards.

I despair at where this is heading.

    14. Starmer is such a wet lettuce. Even with this speech he doesn’t get it.

    15. eruditezero on

Just call a GE and give these self-immolating Labour backbenchers what they want, a one way ticket to the dole office.

    16. hollowcrown51 on

Starmer resigning and us getting a new PM in is not going to fix the country and it will not improve Labour’s chances at the next election. This is cutting off the nose to spite the face.

Bunch of children. Convinced everyone in politics is an idiot with a massive ego at this point. Everyone sensible is doing proper jobs instead of being politicians.

    17. JustWhy1222 on

You mean Starmer giving his 3rd major reset speech since becoming PM didn’t move the political needle?.

    18. I don’t support Labour, but this is ridiculous. Starmer has made a bunch of right calls I’m not sure others would have made in Labour (not joining the war, renters rights and a stronger stance against the far right).

Wes Streeting is the kind of corporate sell out that would make a Tory proud. Starmer has fared well against a hostile united media (though I dislike him immensely)

    19. Ecstatic_Lion4224 on

Idiots. Starmer is unpopular but the only credible alternative is Burnham who isn’t an MP at the moment. If they are going to pivot before the next election he realistically is the best choice. Wasting time with Streeting or anyone else associated with Starmer won’t help as they’ll be derided as much as Starmer is by association, while not being elected. Burnham at least is a bit fresher.

The other thing is, regardless who puts on a red rosette and regardless of their ability to lead the country, the media will still trash them for changing their mind about something/some undeclared tax breaks or accepting a pair of glasses/an ill advised historical tweet/eating a sandwich weirdly. So what is the urgency in changing from Starmer.

He is the most boring centrist dad of a prime minister. The level of hate he gets is unreal.

    20. CanaryWundaboy on

This is just crazy. They’re going to hand the country over to Farage on a silver platter.

    21. RandomSculler on

Even if you felt it was right for Starmer to step down, for him to do so when most people’s favourite of Burnham can’t stand is mental – even if they cry for labour rules to be changed and Burnham become PM (parliament rules do allow this) they’d be bringing him in just as inflation is about to skyrocket and growth crash thanks to the Iran war so his popularity will crash immediately – and to top it all off no one has said what they’d have done and would do different to Starmer, his (and reeves) plan to fix the budget and start cutting the debt whilst borrowing as much as the markets allow is still the most competent plan anyone’s floated so far

This is a monumental level of stupid

    22. Im not a Labour or Starmer fan but he was voted in and he should get his time until the next general election, this craze of calling for resignations is more damaging than anything else

    23. thefluvirus9 on

Sometimes our politics is a joke. We change prime ministers like we change our underwear. I can’t even remember the last PM that went full term. There is a reason the term is 5 years

    24. Three PPS, who are basically the MP equivalent of unpaid interns. Their pay is the same as backbench MPs, so they haven’t lost anything by resigning.

    25. StuckDownHere on

Imagine the mental gymnastics you have to do to sit in opposition and heckle the instability of the Tory governments (rightly so). To then do it yourselves

    26. Mighty-Wings on

      Labour are utterly incompetent.

All the potential replacements are deeply unliked or have had scandals.

This is exactly what Reform want, to show a fractured party and demand a GE before everyone realises how useless they are at a local level.

I hope names are taken and are remembered for their foolish and childlike actions.

    27. Latter-Corner8977 on

Fucking opportunistic idiots. Can’t see past themselves and their own agenda nor balance it against what is good for the country.

I say this as a non labour voter. Starmer is good for us all as our PM against the current backdrop.

These dickheads in the labour parter are a fucking disgrace and should open their eyes. Did they learn nothing from the chaos of Tory rule?

    28. resnaishiroshima on

Absolute clown show. 60+ MPs now. They’ve had years of watching the Tory soap opera and have learnt nothing. Would not blame Starmer at all if he just chose to burn it down and call a general election.
