Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova called on her
counterpart from North Macedonia, Timčo Mucunski, to make use of the EU
enlargement window that is opening in the coming years for Montenegro and
Albania. According to Minister Petrova, if Skopje does not use this opportunity,
it could lose out. The two spoke during an informal working breakfast in
Brussels.
“Bulgaria has a clearly stated position which, since 2022 is
no longer a bilateral issue but a matter of discussion between the EU and a
candidate country. Today, this position was reaffirmed. I am glad that
this is one of the positions on which we have a very broad political consensus
in Bulgaria. I also told this to our partners from North Macedonia”, BTA reported.
