Teenager Rory Finneran says he’s determined to use a week-long training camp with the Ireland senior squad in Spain to prove to manager Heimir Hallgrimsson that he’s capable of playing at that level.

The Newcastle United midfielder (18) was a late addition to the squad named by Hallgrimsson for a camp in Spain ahead of Saturday’s friendly against Grenada in Murcia, called in to replace fellow teenager Jaden Umeh who was held back by his club, Benfica, for a domestic youth league game.
