IOWA CITY, Iowa– Jan Jensen and Iowa have added a pair of talents to their 2026 roster. On Wednesday, Knox College standout Bria Medina announced that she has committed to the Hawkeyes for her final year of eligibility. A source with direct knowledge also confirmed to HawkeyeInsider that Iowa has added Sweden prospect Ella Stromdahl to the roster. Des Moines Register’s Chad Leistikow first reported it.

Medina and Strohmdahl become the fourth and fifth portal addition for Iowa joining Georgia’s Dani Carnegie, Oklahoma State’s Amari Whiting and Georgia’s Jocelyn Faison.

Medina, the 5-foot-6 high-volume scorer out of Knox College, adds to Iowa’s backcourt depth. Last season, she was a menace on the court. Medina averaged 23.6 points per game, which was the second-most in DIII action. She had a 40-point performance in January and eclipsed 30 or more five different times. Medina loves her mid-range jumper and draws a lot of contact when she goes downhill.

She finished shooting 87 percent from the free-throw line on 229 attempts. Medina wasn’t seen as purely a scorer and made a variety of impact. She also averaged 5.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.7 steals this past season. Medina will have one year of eligibility and will be the second senior on the roster alongside Whiting.

The Uppsala, Sweden native is a 6-foot versatile weapon that should fit into Iowa’s system nicely. She had a solid foundation of fundamentals and appears that she can score with either hand in traffic. Last season played on the RIG Lulea Swedish academy team and averaged 6.5 points and 2.9 rebounds a contest. Strohmdahl will turn 19 this summer and will have four years of eligibility remaining.

There are few college teams that have had more publicity than Iowa throughout the past few years and Iowa used some of their prestige to land an intriguing prospect from across the globe. Stromdahl will be the second freshman on next year’s roster joining highly-touted forward McKenna Woliczko.

Both players were on campus yesterday and didn’t waste any time giving their commitments. Iowa’s rotation was primarily set with the recent acquisitions and a lot of their core returning. It will be quite a jump for Medina going from DIII to Big Ten action, but a spot player that can provide depth and quality competition behind the scenes is always needed.

A couple weeks ago, HawkeyeInsider informed VIP subscribers that it wouldn’t be surprising to see Iowa go into the season with 11 players. Barring something changing in the near future, it’s quite possible that the roster is finalized.
