Yes on the earlier comments – mental illness and evil are not mutually exclusive. But, even acknowledging both descriptions, “profound stupidity” is a glaring omission and should be included for full disclosure.

He is evil to everyone and everything he is involved with. His wife, kids, ‘friends’, everyone.

Money hoarding isn’t really all that different than the hoarding you see on that “Buried Alive” show if one truly thinks about it, other than being currency that they obsess over rather than physical items.
It seems to be that he’s both, and both states are entangled with one another.

Two things can be true
He’s both. Your headline should’ve said, “Trump doesn’t have dementia; He’s evil.”
His “mental illnesses” are insanity, mania, paranoia, stupidity, schizophrenia, narcissism, being bipolar, psychotic, and sociopathic, at a minimum. Because Republicans correctly talked about how “diminished” Biden was because he CLEARLY had dementia after having had multiple brain aneurysms in his lifetime, Democrats want to constantly say Trump has “dementia.” Whether he does or doesn’t pales in comparison to all of his other mental issues.
If liberals say Trump has “dementia,” then they’re really saying he’s not in control of his own decisions and he isn’t really lying, the dementia is doing all that, whether they want to accept that fact or not, and I refuse to grant Trump that excuse.
He knows everything he’s doing because, yes, he’s evil, because he’s an insane, psychotic, sociopathic maniac.
I mean, I think both can be true, but I get the point of the article is that any mental illness he may have shouldn’t be used to explain away his evilness.
A thing can be two things.

He’s definitely got dementia, and is mentally ill. But is also evil. This article is pushing aside the fact that he is mentally incompetent, which is not a good thing.

He can be more than one thing.
Whilst the choice of wording isn’t correct (it’s unlikely ontological evil exists if morality isn’t absolute/intrinsic) – the sentiment is correct;
He’s not “crazy”, he knows what he’s doing and that it has overtly negative effects. It’s not that he doesn’t understand the effects of his behaviour, it’s that he doesn’t care.
And why should he – America has literally indulged his every whim, including raping children, making him president, never holding him to account, and on and on.
He has literally no reason to believe he will ever suffer any negative consequences for his actions because he essentially never has before.
This is also just part of a micro-industry that sells “isn’t Trump terrible” fluff pieces whilst doing nothing to stop him – in fact, actively encouraging him by opining about how bad he is whilst also giving him the attention he craves, and nothing bad whatsoever.
At this point the real surprise is that anyone is even remotely shocked, or that Americans don’t recognise that they literally made Trump from the ground up, themselves, and have no one but themselves to blame for him and everything he does.
