Experience with carstronaut?

Hi everyone,

I’ll be traveling around Georgia with my friends in July, and we’re looking for a 4×4 rental car.

I’ve already checked a lot of car rental websites. Unfortunately, Georgia on Wheels and RentNGo didn’t have the cars available that we were interested in. We also had to turn down Starcar because their “full insurance” apparently only covers 50% of the other party’s damages in case of an accident.

In Germany, someone once deliberately drove into my friend’s car and then claimed my friend was at fault. Because of that, my friend had to pay 50% of the damage himself. That’s exactly the kind of situation we absolutely want to avoid in Georgia. So we’re looking for insurance that covers 100% in any case, except of course for stupid things like drunk driving or taking prohibited roads, which we definitely won’t do.

I’ve now found https://www.carstronaut.com/ and wanted to ask if anyone has experience with them. Their prices look good and the insurance seems to cover quite a lot.

We really want to experience and enjoy beautiful Georgia and its culture, not end up arguing with rental car owners afterwards.
