They didn’t “learn” this…it was widely reported EVERYWHERE except in the media at the time. Nobody has explained who bought the house in Clacton or even who owns it. still at least the feeding frenzy should finally expose the grifter

The Reform 2029 manifesto is going to be written by the highest bidders

    3. No_Atmosphere8146 on

I just don’t understand how this man is so appealing to some people. He’s a multimillionaire finance bro called Nigel that has delivered and achieved nothing.

    4. It’s just a normal house for his security he bought with a gift given for no reason!

    5. BusyBeeBridgette on

And remember, an elected politician receiving 5 million is “none of the electorates concern.” .

    6. Electronic_Truck_84 on

It just so happen the “Donor” runs a crypto company that is behind Russian money laundering. This guy will turn the UK into another Hungary for his corrupt buddies. Absolute nightmare.

    7. mooninuranus on

“I’ve been the most attacked, physically, politician of modern times”

It’s just so difficult to work out why.

    8. Valuable_Proposal_56 on

I thought the £5m was exclusively funding his security, so I’m assuming he’s bought Fort Knox

    9. Let’s not muck about – this stinks. If anyone really believes this is a “personal unconditional gift unrelated to politics” they need to give their head a wobble.

But imo it doesn’t stink any more than [Labour’s dodgy cayman island hedge fund donors](https://www.thecanary.co/uk/analysis/2026/03/24/labour-together-funders/), or the gifts to Starmer being the most of any MP, or the “lots of small anonymous donations that don’t have to be declared” model that the Greens and Restore are using to avoid scrutiny of their funding.

The current models around scrutiny of donations are not fit for purpose and all the money moves through middle men like Harborne anyway, but let’s not pretend that Farage is the only one doing this.

If you want to keep the momentum. Stop engaging with the other minor scandals and focus all concentration on this cunt. Don’t let yourself get caught up arguing with bots in circular arguments and whataboutism. It’s all bad behavior but some is much, much WORST.

    11. nobodyspecialuk24 on

Ah, so this is why the news and YouTube is constantly bombarding me with stories about why Farage simply must resign as Reform leader.

    12. Shot_Heron_2782 on

Early 2024: Mr Harborne is reported to have given Nigel Farage £5m.

10 May 2024: Nigel Farage completes purchase of a £1.42 million house.

22 May 2024: Then-prime minister Rishi Sunak calls a general election.

23 May 2024: Nigel Farage said he would not stand in the general election.

3 June 2024: Nigel Farage reverses decision and announces he would contest the Clacton seat.

    13. why isn’t this on the front page of the Telegraph/Daily Mail/Sun etc etc? Eh? Where are those scroutes when you need them to explain?

    14. DesignerElectrical23 on

If this man gets a sniff of power we are doomed. The majority of people will not benefit from the self serving individual.

    15. Trump wannabe will bring “lobbying” to the UK without hesitation, and his Reform muppets eat it up like a soft cream sundae on a hot summer day.

    16. I’m sure it was property with a very high level of security.. lol.. Not lol.

    17. AltogetherGuy on

He’s convinced the disabled to vote against the immigrants and the immigrants to vote against the disabled.

    18. Disillusioned_Pleb01 on

The thing is you can’t buy anyone with £500 reading glasses, so this is a non conversation.

    19. Look, that was STRICTLY for use by his extensive security team, and it is DISGUSTING that you are using ILLEGALLY obtained information to hold him to account for ANYTHING.

When Farage is Dear Leader he will make sure to PUNISH all those who question his FLAWLESS record.

    20. Squid-Guillotine on

Interesting. I thought Farage was their boy so was kinda surprised this article exists.

    21. It’s like with Trump, literally nothing will change people’s minds. There will be scandal after scandal and they will just dig their heels in more.

    22. Yeah but have you ever stopped to consider that Zack Polanski has funny teeth and that is WAY more of a talking point

    23. Primary_Tune_9586 on

A sitting deputy PM tried to commit stamp duty fraud, all politicians are the same

    24. LateToTheParty013 on

Someone help me understand. When we apply for mortgage and to buy our first property, the brokers, lenders and their underwriters and solicitors would look at our statements, source of funds up to 12 months and question all deposits which are not our salaries, child benefit etc.

How the hell does this work with him? Solicitors face prison if they miss AML procedures.

Or you can be big enough where not even AML applies? Wtf?

    25. Fredpillow1995 on

This is just the latest in a long line of dodgy doner controversies. He is just as bad, if not worse, than all the others that have been exposed in the past.

As far as I can tell every single party bends rules and gets away with sus deals during and after their time as politicians. The whole thing stinks and make me wonder how many clandestine agreements have gone under the radar.

    26. remain-beige on

This needs to be shared far and wide.

Farage is slush funded by a foreign crypto millionaire / billionaire who is most likely a proxy for a cabal of people / nation states that have interests in tampering with UK democracy. It is highly likely that this interference is designed to destabilise the UK.

Farage was one of the main public architects of Brexit, which has been a disaster for the UK economy and weakened the EU.

There are a few nation states that benefit from this isolationism and disruption and it doesn’t take a genius to work out through critical thinking who actually pays for Farage to operate.

    27. When I bought my house for much less than this, I got put through the absolute ringer to prove that a relatively tiny amount of money came from clean sources. It was incredibly stressful and it felt awful to have to ask my parents and in-laws to have to send financial statements to strangers.

One rule for them and another rule for everyone else.

    28. Spiritual_Salary_997 on

so his girlfriend didn’t buy it herself, without a mortgage, or a deposit, from her own job?

    29. lessismoreok on

This is corruption. Perhaps he was financed by Putin like his colleague in Wales.

He should be barred from public office.

    30. AttemptImpossible111 on

      I already knew this

I also already know that his voters will not care, nor will his party

    31. PresidentPopcorn on

Good for him. He deserves it. Must be nackering being that much of a prick all day everyday.

    32. So this all comes up AFTER the local elections. Even now the press are protecting him and his ilk. And, the general election is so far off that he can restore his brand and build on the local elections.

    33. And he didn’t declare it because it was personal not political. Bullshit! If he was some every day Barry off the street, a crypto billionaire would not have gifted him £5 million. He got that cash because he has political influence. If that doesn’t end his career, the system is broken.

    34. strongfavourite on

all this reporting the week AFTER local elections, how fucking convenient

oh well, at least we all got to find out Polanski was just a person who spoke for BRC but was not, in fact, a spokesperson

    35. The moment the donation was revealed, it was clear that’s where the money came from… And why he won’t declare it.

He used that money for political things and should declare it.

…. But looks, Starmer has new glasses

    36. KitchenIcy2450 on

Plus he bought 4 houses after endorsing trump costing £3 million and Farage has made over £198,000 for masquerading as MP for Clacton plus expenses plus he also claimed for 5 bogus workers no meetings held in the surgery of Clacton or helped local issues he’s just a grifter out to make money
