Albanian students protest on May 18 in Skopje against the use of Albanian, Majko: No one is taking us back to the dark past of Yugoslavia

Albanian students have announced a new protest to be held on May 18, 2026, at 16:30 PM, in front of the Stone Bridge in Skopje, demanding that the jurisprudence exam be made available in the Albanian language.
According to announcements published on the social network Facebook, the protest is organized under the motto “Unite with students – all with one voice”, while the main message is the protection of the right to use the Albanian language in professional exams.
A few days before this protest, former Albanian Prime Minister Pandeli Majko also reacted.
Majko’s status
A student movement of Albanian boys and girls has begun in North Macedonia!
Albanian students demand the oldest law in the world, that of the mother tongue! They demand that the language of the jurisprudence exam be in Albanian! Studying Albanian and taking the exam in Macedonian insults the most naive intelligentsia!
Prime Minister Mickovski has declared that the Venice Commission will be “asked” about the use of the Albanian language!… The country that changed its name and flag has decided to “ask” what to do with Albanian children!
No one in North Macedonia can return the bright future in the European Union for Albanians to the dark past of the former Yugoslavia!
The protest of Albanian students in North Macedonia is a rejection of a system that has lost control over itself and the implementation of the law!
What is happening is more than a student revolt! It is a battle for the future.
Protest today! She refuses war tomorrow!
