First political consultative meeting between Mongolia and Montenegro takes place

AKIPRESS.COM – The first political consultative meeting between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro was held online on May 7, Montsame reported.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the current state of bilateral relations and broad opportunities for future cooperation.
They focused on enhancing trade and economic ties, expanding cooperation in tourism, and exploring opportunities to develop relations in science, culture, and sports.
The parties also considered supporting direct cooperation between private sector entities and organizing a joint business forum.
As this year marks the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Montenegro, the sides exchanged views on organizing high-level visits, concluding foundational cooperation agreements, and issuing commemorative postage stamps.
The parties also reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation within the framework of the United Nations and other international organizations. The Mongolian side extended an invitation to Montenegro to participate in the 17th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (COP17).
The Mongolian side congratulated Montenegro on the 20th anniversary of the restoration of its independence and highlighted the decision of the European Union to formally launch accession negotiations with Montenegro for EU membership.
