So members of a vigilante group raided a birthday party in a rented nightclub. They assaulted the guests while looking for evidence of “LGBT activities”. Later the woman hosting the party was interrogated by law enforcement and convicted for “blasphemy” because the nightclub had a neon cross as decoration.

My summary does not do this shit justice. Please read the article.

Even when Putin dies, Russia is still so fucked, as shown by the existence of these vigilante groups

How do you undo the mess of mostly an entire country?

It’s funny that these big strong brave are attacking women’s birthday parties and not willingly going to Ukraine.

Looks like russia wants to speedrun into a state like afghanistan/iran with a state accepted religious police mob force. What a ugly terror supporting failed miserable country russia has become.

We can look forward to this sort of shit when reform takes power and planetir hands over our medical records to their brown shirts.

      >The BBC also built a multi-agent AI system – getting multiple AI programs to work together, each doing a different job and given direction by a BBC reporter – to collect and analyse social media content from multiple Russian nationalist groups, to work out which was most active on the ground.

Conflicted about this – I don’t think we can trust AI to do accurate reporting

The result of going from hyperbole to hyperbole for decades over migrants and minorities leaves the most extreme in power.

It is sad for the Russians, and it should be a warning sign for anyone who things the extreme right elsewhere won’t lead us to this exact same place if they aren’t stopped before they come to power.

Oh yeah BBCnews. I’m so afraid of those russian vigilante groups. I saw like 2 or 3 in the street the other day.
