>A conservative writer at The Bulwark unloaded on House Speaker Mike Johnson on Thursday, casting his entire tenure as a study in surrender and branding it with one cutting word: “impotence.”
>In a piece titled “Mike Johnson, Lollygagger of the House,” reporter Joe Perticone argued that the Louisiana Republican stands apart from his recent predecessors because he has made handing power to the White House his defining act.
>”Each House speakership ends up having its own unique character—forged through a combination of successes and failures,” Perticone wrote, before walking through the legacies of Nancy Pelosi, Paul Ryan, John Boehner, and Kevin McCarthy.
The Republican party had a chance to be done with Trump, but that would have lost them millions of MAGA votes, so they doubled down.
But they didn’t fully appreciate how depraved their “savior” Trump truly was. Giving Trump a get out of jail card, and another chance to CASH in on the Executive Office became a political nightmare.
Trump surrounded himself with loyalist of the highest order, men and women that are forever bound to him, his greed, and his sexual perversions.
Trump has given up of a pretense of “doing the right thing” for leveraging the Office of President for himself and his family. He is literally burning thru trillions of dollars of federal funds, so he can siphon billions into his and family accounts. His decisions have caused the average American thousands of dollars or more.
Yet, it gets worse, Trump has handed off vital function of the government to individuals that want to rewrite history according to their maniacal beliefs. Healthcare, immigration, conservation, accountability, justice, environment, utilities, and more are being reshaped and broken.
Trump has also damaged critical international relationships with our closest allies. Both financial and militarily.
The Republicans are not going to escape unscathed. Long after Trump is gone, the news media, movies- both documentaries and fiction, books will keep telling the horror stories of Trump’s pillage of America and the Republicans that enabled it.
The entire leadership of the House of the Representative are from Louisiana (jHonson and Scalise).
