The changes will affect eID cards issued between September 2, 2019 and January 30, 2026, which use a certain technological component to ensure an e-signature.
According to the Latvian State Radio and Television Center (LVRTC) information providedmore than 346,000 eID cards containing the chip version may be affected by the December 9 change "Cosmo 8.1". The changes are related to the certification process carried out by the French national supervisory authority.
