It’s your personal freedom, but for someone who came to Korea for travel, you sure ate a lot of tacos.

I hope you enjoyed Korea! I’ve lived here so long that I find most things quite ordinary, but seeing pics by visitors of even the most mundane things helps me to deepen my appreciation of life here.

Mexican food is surprisingly good in Seoul! Thinking it’s on trend now was well and as a Cali-Mex food fan, not unhappy about it!
Yeah Korea can be weird that way. For some reason Koreans can take foreign food and not only make it authentic (though there are lots of places the Korea-fy non-Korean food), but also add unique twists (TONKATSU, KIMBAP, TAKOYAKI, Italian Food, SUSHI / OMAKASE, etc. are pretty popular here).
Went to a place where they do pop-ups and the chef did a unique blend of Mexican, with Korean influence. I loved that he sourced the masa (corn tortilla dough) and hand-made the tortillas.
La Calle in Sindang market and Villa Guerrero near COEX are my favorites. Other places are hit and miss, but always on the lookout.
If you want a really good Korean meal that’s eaten in the summer, I recommend the Samgyetang (Ginseng Chicken soup). There’s tons of places and it’s actually made to be eaten in Summer, though I prefer to have it in Winter as well. Korean food has lots of soupy type choices that keep the harsh winter cold away.
Admit it though, McDonald’s was rage-bait wasn’t it? 🤣
