Fairyhouse flutters as the breeze-up community meets in Co Meath.

Self-described as ‘Europe’s most dynamic breeze-up sale’, the breeze at Tattersalls Ireland has certainly built itself a firm footing and, with a reported 60+ individual winners emerging from last year’s offering so far, the pressure is on for it to deliver another strong renewel.
Sires new and established appear in the catalogue, with progeny of Sioux Nation, Bayside Boy, Cotai Glory and Starman among stallions appearing frequently in its pages. Cotai Glory, for example, has sired such two-year-olds as Lot 39, a half-brother to the 2024 Flying Childers winner Aesterius.
Baaeed, who has his first two-year-olds hitting the track this year, has sired a cluster of representatives, including Lot 116, a half-brother to the Queen Anne winner Accidental Agent, and fellow first season sire Naval Crown (his first winning progeny emerged at Doncaster this month) is the father of Lot 42, a half-brother to A Case Of You.
Lot 42 will be followed into the ring by another noteworthy entry in Lot 43, a Space Traveller half-brother to Relief Rally
The pair are two of almost 280 lots on offer, in a catalogue that also features such pedigree eyecatchers as Lot 225, a Nando Parrado half-sister to the Group 3 winner Copacabana Sands, and, one lot later, Lot 226, a Saxon Warrior half-brother to last year’s Hungerford hero More Thunder.
More Thunder, unsuprisingly, is by Night Of Thunder, who has sired the likes of Lot 77, a half-sister to the Group 2 winner and Fillies’ Mile fourth Polly Pott.
A series of wildcards complement those already in the catalogue, their ranks including the well-bred Lot 276, a Siyouni colt out of a half-sister to the Hong Kong hero Romantic Warrior.
Of the lots they join, however, Lot 201, a Hard Spun colt out of an unraced half-sister to Makfi, is also set to turn heads is, as is Lot 138, a Mehmas filly out of a half-sister to Poetic Flare.
Other lots of interest include:
Lot 94, a Wootton Bassett filly out of the Stanerra Stakes winner Peach Tree, a full-sister to Love.
Lot 130, a Siyouni filly out of Shale, who won the Moyglare Stud Stakes in 2020.
Lot 257, by Havana Grey, a wildcard out of a half-sister to the Prix Morny-winning sire Arcano.
Trade begins at 10am on Friday with the breeze at 8:30am on Thursday.
