Anyone have bets on whether by 2028 Trump just finishes his term and leaves the East wing demolished like this for the next guy to clean up? And then the Republicans suddenly care about fiscal responsibility and dont approve funding to restore it?

Sadly, that title is not accurate.  The parlametarian Lìz – only temporarily blocked it.  GOP said they will reintroduce the Bill differently.

    3. Can we just keep it to 100M for a building? Shouldn’t that cover a bomb shelted, gilded toilet seats, and a security control center?

    4. >A US official has struck down security funding allotted for President Trump’s White House ballroom project from a proposed spending package, in a win for Democrats.

One of the myriad things wrong with “reporting” at this current point on the dumbest timeline ever, is this constant framing of us vs. them. This is NOT a win for “democrats” it is a win for Americans. FFS, why make this nonsense political- does the country need a ballroom? No. Do the American people need a ballroom? No. Trump (personally- not the president) is THE only person who wants a ballroom- because he now says (after 5 decades of being a registered democrat) that he is a republican, that does not make every one of his whims a partisan issue.

      This BS needs to stop.

Just tell trump’s “doners” they can put their corporate logos on the walls instead of goldleaf. It should shore up donations and lower costs.

You’d think they’d have these details hammered out before hammering away the building

So he tore down an entire wing of the white house, something he has ZERO jurisdiction or authority to do, without any approval, said that private donors we’re going to cover the cost so its fine, which was a lie, was totally going to die to an totally not staged assassination attempt on a completely different venue, so he can construct his ‘not a bunker’ or ‘data center’ under the ballroom that was sold to him because the rendering was to his taste, which is gaudy out of date gold molding from his toilet.

      Im out of breath.

    8. They knew this going in. The point was to be seen as doing whatever they could to help Trump and then letting the parliamentarian take the blame. They’ll then play dumb about the fact that they could replace the parliamentarian if they wanted to. They don’t actually want to go into the midterms with the ballroom on their tab.

The US president destroyed history. The USA is done it’s over. The country allowed it to be demolished before securing funding.

      USA is over…….

For gods sake forget about that goddamn ballroom and just make him rebuild the Whitehouse just the way it was. Make him pay for it out of his own pocket and be done with this stupidity.

No part of that ballroom should be funded, including its construction.
