Taiwan is not China. It is better than China in many ways.

What a joke we openly give USA billions and promise to move most of our high end semi conductor business to us. Just for trump to slap Lai in the face to not declare independence after meeting with xi.

There will obviously be both pro-CCP and pro-Taiwan people here in the comment.
The most important part is to be able to acknowledge this and tell them apart.
Those claiming to be “neutral” (directly or indirectly) yet cares is obviously a fake. The same concept applies to so many political issues, especially geopolitical ones.
And as for myself, pro-Taiwan of course. Another huge difference between the two sides is the honesty. One side directly admits to the side they support. The other side would never admit to the side they support, and would claim themselves as neutral (directly or indirectly) rather than admit support for CCP (as if they themselves know who’s the bad one here). Also applicable to many other political (and especially geopolitical) issues.

Taiwan is learning the hard way. No one guarantees another country’s stability.

The worlds become way too entitled and greedy,
It would be nice if one of these superpower countries could show some decency and prove they have morals to the rest of the world and show that they deserve our money. Right now I try and buy products from smaller countries with a good track record if possibe. I mean its not that hard really considering there’s like multiple options of most products available from multiple countries.

When your neighbour is China is hard to tell what do they understand as “provocation”. I mean, they are awfully nasty with the Philippines over a sunken ship.

I just hope things are underway to move chip production from Taiwan to wherever else because lesson learned once this goes down (and it will) everything there will be destroyed

Trump is such an idiot negotiator. Giving up leverage on China by turning on Taiwan. What a coward.

As important as Taiwan may be, no other country is willing to risk starting ww3 against china over it. And from what we’ve seen with Russia invading Ukraine and the Trump attacking oil countries, I highly doubt even if China attacked Japan, anyother country would get involved. Every country talks big…but if it isn’t actually happening to them, they find ways to ignore the issue.
