Parliamentary Committee KFSiT unanimously adopted a draft amendment extending noise-standard exemptions to homologated motorsport tracks, as requested by the Polish Motor Union. If enacted, the new rules should protect e.g. the Poznań circuit.

Track “Poznań” exists since ~1970s. It was built in the middle of nowhere, like many tracks.

Over time greedy developers started buying up land around it and convert it to build-able land *(which at that stage already should be stopped, nothing X kilometers from the track should be allowed to be converted from farming land to build-able land EXACTLY because of noise pollution. But hey, bribery will get you far!)*.

Then NIMBYs moved in and suddenly the noise became a problem to them. Then they go to court and courts, based on modern noise emissions laws – give a ruling to close the track. Land/house value goes up, profit.

This is not the first time this happens either. Hopefully Tor Poznań is high-profile enough to finally stop this insanity and the regulations proposed by KFSiT will pass.
