Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi says South Korea-Japan cooperation on supply chains, including supply chains for critical minerals, is important given the recent international situation.
Takaichi made the remark on Tuesday in a joint press statement released after her summit with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung in Lee’s hometown of Andong.
She said she and Lee agreed to explore cooperation, including mutual swap arrangements for crude oil, petroleum products and liquefied natural gas.
Takaichi added that it is crucial for the two countries to play a pivotal role in ensuring stability in the Indo-Pacific region, mentioning cooperation among Seoul, Tokyo and Washington in sharing information on security and economic issues.
