Discount retailer Pepco and European logistics provider DHL Supply Chain have announced the expansion of their partnership to Romania.
DHL Supply Chain will take over the operational management of Pepco’s strategic hub in Bucharest, adding to the four other sites across Central and Eastern Europe already included in this partnership.
Stephan Borchert, CEO of Pepco Group, said, “This partnership will enable Pepco Group to pursue its strategic targets of accelerated growth at the desired levels of effectiveness and efficiency. We are looking forward to a successful long-term partnership.”
The partnership between Pepco and DHL Supply Chain aims to deliver a more efficient and resilient end-to-end logistics network across Central and Eastern Europe.
Three of the five network sites are automated and a multi-site operational setup has been established in order to maintain consistent quality service level even during periods of disruption, the company added.
The workforce at the Bucharest hub will join DHL Supply Chain, ensuring employment stability for staff and uninterrupted service for Pepco’s retail stores across Europe.
Long Partnership
This expansion builds on a long-lasting partnership between Pepco and DHL Supply Chain, which commenced in 2019 at the Sosnowiec facility in Poland.
Their collaboration expanded to Spain in 2024, Rawa Mazowiecka (Poland) in September 2025, and Gyál (Hungary) in January 2026.
Pepco claimed that this partnership is one of the largest multi-site retail contract logistics collaborations in the region in recent years.
Filip Budík, CEO Central and Eastern Europe at DHL Supply Chain, added, “Long‑term partnerships like this are built on trust, transparency, and shared goals – and we’re proud to continue delivering on all three.
“I am confident that our expanded cooperation will not only enhance operational efficiency but also elevate the customer experience for Pepco shoppers across Europe.”
