      > It also alienated voters in the district who had long supported him. For them, his repeated insistence on breaking with the GOP left them wanting a party regular in his stead.

By “GOP party regular” they mean pedophile protector. These people are sick.

Kelly Hall had a long goatee and was wearing a t-shirt with the slogan “Government Watch List” when he went to vote on Tuesday. The Hebron, Kentucky resident told Slate he had voted for Ed Gallrein because he “wanted to try something different.”

He specifically cited Massie’s teaming with Rep. Ro Khanna, a California Democrat, on the Epstein Files. Hall thought the files named people who just happened to be there incidentally, which the voter described as “horrible.”

Betting odds on the content of his hard drive?

I disagree with Thomas Massie on roughly 99% of things.

That said, we lost a good one today.

What is the minimum number of retiring or doomed Republicans required to factionalise and hold the balance of power in the legislature?

Alas, all of them have shown themselves to be spineless cowards. Massie will gladly vex Trump on his way out, but he needs like-minded numbers in order to inflict damage.

Move over Liz Cheney. Rep. Massie will be laughing his way into the tv studio any minute.

The rights entire identity was there was a cabal of corrupt evil people at the top for as long as I Can remember. Now they completely flipped, pathetic.

Massie needs to go scorched earth with the Epstein files now. Name names dammit

    8. The primary was a red vs red battle. It doesn’t matter that much. But what it does shows is that Trump can still influence some of the republicans voters, enough to overcome the advantages incumbents have, when he throws a lot of money at the race. What it doesn’t show is how his endorsed, non-incumbent candidate will fare against another candidate in the general election.

When you consider that the first rule of politics is “It’s the economy stupid” and that the republican candidate is a non-incumbent being endorsed by the president with an abysmal approval rating, the tea leaves are not looking favorably for the republicans in the general election.

    9. The real question. Will they drop 35 million for the other guy to beat his Democrat challenger?

    10. abelabelabel on

Thomas Massie quote: “makes sense for 30 seconds – END THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION” – I hate it here. It’s so stupid.

    11. This guy was Trump cult on all but one topic which was raping children and republicans in Kentucky was like “hey now we don’t be punishin kid fuckers round here” and booted him.

    12. Do the numbers of House and Senate Rs who lost their primaries due to Trump add up to the votes needed to impeach and remove him from office?

    13. Primary voters tend to be the most diehard party supporters. IMO, it’s actually the problem with parties selecting their candidates via election versus selection. People think it’s more democratic, but the actual outcome appears to be candidates that are further from what most people want versus closer.

Massie has an amazing redemption arc opportunity. Release everything; every file email all of it from that Epstein list case. And all of the back channel pressure as well. Exposing the cockroaches to sunlight is the only way. That said I am almost positive he will not.

    15. TweakedNipple on

Any hope of him running as Libertarian or Independent so the vote splits and blue wins?

    16. He could toss a grenade into the party and blow it all up on his way out. The last thing the GOP needs is a man with nothing to lose by burning them to the ground and everything to win by doing it.

All he has to do is release all the details, the pressure campaign from Trump to not release, the details of the backroom deals offered, the “who” from the files that the GOP is so desperate to protect (we know Trump is part of it but he isn’t the whole of it by a long shot.

      > there were also figures like former Congressman Dana Rohrabacher and Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes floating around.

      Uh…😬

These primaries tell you the parts of the country where more voters support racism and abuse toward children, while hiding behind the “Bible”. You know, the modern civilization.

    19. JeremyNolans on

So the only people to be held responsible for child rape, abuse and torture, by the POTUS, are the people who tried to tell the world about it. Nice.

    20. Mikeytruant850 on

Sometimes I look at people like Matt Gaetz or Stephen Miller and I think, can people really not tell that those are the bad guys? Just look at them.

Ed Gallrein is another one of those people. Look at him.

    21. daveyboydavey on

He will not. Plenty have had the chance to do the right thing and they won’t.

    22. The state seems to be overlooking the cause of their bourbon industry slump. Unsold inventory, record levels of unbottled product, closed distilleries, deep discounting of current stock. Yeah, that’ll turn around soon.

    23. Neoknight059 on

No he won’t everyone keeps saying Trump is unpopular and losing but the guy is openly getting away with crimes and still has the support of most republicans

    24. Thomas Massie should run as independent just to split the vote in Kentucky.

      One last middle finger.

    25. klauskervin on

The GOP is all in on protecting and eventually legalizing pedophile. Their own supporters love it.
