Takaichi’s government accused Calbee of a “publicity stunt” when they announced they would switch to black-and-white packages due to Naphtha shortages, saying “the media coverage will make other companies anxious”. There’s a large gap between government perception of supply and reality

My equipment supplier told me just week or two after Hormuz blockade that they will have problems with paint for equipment.
Government still deny it even now is just comical.
What they try to achieve with those lies?

Does Takaichi understand that saying something and throwing tantrums doesn’t make it real. Many such a case with these fucking chuds.

    3. I have had to postpone renovations to my office because the building company has told me they cannot get paint supplies. Totally normal situation.

    4. She and her cabinet are the only ones denying the naphtha shortage, saying there is enough supply and that there is absolutely no need to worry.

However, the opposition is clearly worried about the shortage.

And then we have sanseito who are worried about us foreigners stealing their jobs and livelihood.

Man, Japanese politics are not politics. It’s literally a top tier comedy show.

    5. Thank Calbee, one of the biggest, if not THE biggest snack companies in Japan, for putting factual pressure on the farce that Takaichi is trying to continue.

      This is pathetic.

I don’t give a shit what Calbee do in their marketing campaigns.

It’s pretty fucking obvious that companies engage in “publicity stunts”, because that’s what their marketing people do.

But this is really not the kind of bollocks that the government should be concerning themselves with, because it eats up time that can be better spent on making companies pay their people properly.

    7. Just a small rumor of a possible shortage will make suppliers raise their prices hoping to cash in on companies worried about a future shortage, because they know they can. Doesn’t matter if there is still plenty, almost like the government have no idea how anything works.

    8. Its really alarming that Takaichi seems to be treating this as more of a public relations problem for her rather than an actual problem that needs to be dealt with.

I can’t find any city trash bags for sale. How is
      this a publicity stunt?

    10. This is attractive to so many people because the only qualifications are blind loyalty and when anything goes wrong, blame someone else.

A govt for losers voted in by losers.

I am going to guess Japan has naphtha but the cost has now skyrocketed 5x which makes it unaffordable now for companies and they would prefer to lower production instead. They will be producing at a loss if they purchase at current prices.

Simple Supply doesn’t mean everything is BAU…. this lady has a simplistic view of economics. This is the problem with career politicians. No grip on relity

Kind of like last year, when everyone was complaining about expensive rice and the LDP still couldn’t explain why prices had gone up.

    13. Female Trump… lie lie and lie some more. When called out on it lie again.

I did not think you could out-clown the US in terms of top-down political dysfunction but Takaichi’s cabinet is certainly doing their best
