The appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Igor Moldovan, today presented copies of his Letters of Credence to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermukhambet Konuspayev during an official ceremony.


    During the discussions, the Ambassador highlighted the Republic of Moldova’s interest in strengthening the Moldovan-Kazakh political dialogue and developing lasting cooperation based on pragmatic objectives and mutual benefits. The head of mission also mentioned the strengthening of regional partnerships among the foreign policy priorities of our country.


    Yermukhambet Konuspayev expressed the Kazakh side’s openness to deepening political relations and expanding cooperation in sectoral areas.


    The officials welcomed the constructive and friendly nature of relations between the two countries, based on trust and mutual respect. They also discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in strategic areas such as the economy, energy, transport, digital transformation, and the cultural-humanitarian sphere. The importance of exchanging best practices in the process of institutional modernization and of mutual support within international forums was likewise underlined.


    Igor Moldovan was appointed Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan in mid-April 2026. He is a career diplomat, holds the rank of minister-counsellor, and has more than 20 years of experience in the diplomatic service and in the field of law. He served as deputy head of mission at the embassies of the Republic of Moldova in the State of Israel and Ireland, as well as at the Permanent Mission to the UN Office in Geneva.


    The Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Kazakhstan established diplomatic relations on 16 September 1992.
