      The Court of Appeal said today that Burke “does not get to pick and choose” which court orders he obeys

      The judgment said: “He has been imprisoned because he chooses not to obey the order of the court – the very same court which he now expects to come to his aid and uphold his allegations of breach of his constitutional rights, notwithstanding his refusal to contest the original trial or to appeal the judgment of the court

      The gobshite thought he could break the rules constantly and get what he wants. This is judge basically saying “You didn’t listen to us, so fuck you and fuck off”

      Imagine if he just went home that evening; has a sensible debate with the family around the dinner table; expressed their views privately and got on with their life. He, and the other children are martyrs for their parents cause.

      It shows that there are serious issues with our employment law.

      I’m all for workers rights but when it takes two years, much of it spent in prison no less, to be sacked then there is something rotten in our legislation.

      The only thing this has shown to me is that public jobs have way too much leniency and red tape with firing somebody incompetent and that’s exactly why Ireland is where it is rn 

      This man should have been officially sacked a a week after he did what he did. It’s been what, 4 years? Christ.

      Just so people know, as he has been dismissed, the school are now obliged to refer to the Teaching Council for a fitness to teach hearing, where he could (and probably will) be removed from the Teaching Council and be officially unemployable.

      So that’s the next stage in this shitshow.
