Russia’s UN ambassador Vassily Nebenzia accused Latvia on Monday, without providing evidence, of allowing Ukraine to use its territory to prepare drone strikes against Russia.

The Russian diplomat also threatened Latvia with military retaliation, according to reports, and claimed that NATO would not come to the country’s aid, even though Latvia has been a member of the alliance since 2004.
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski said on X on Thursday that “there is no acceptance for Russia’s threats against our allies.”
