      How rooted must the Liberal party be that they couldn’t find a worthy successor to Howard as the parties grandfather so they had to turn to the bloke who couldn’t string two sentences together to make a convincing statement.

      People seem happy about this, but I’m concerned, wasn’t Abbott popular with Liberal voters disappointed he lost leadership to Turnbull?

      While party president is a mostly invisible role, what if his work still re-coordinates the right wing? What if he runs on another ballot to get a new House of Reps seat, since he’s willing to return to politics?

      There are rumours that Abbott is using this leadership position to set the stage for him to return to Parliament.

      If true, I can only encourage him to do so. Absolutely nothing will go wrong with a choice like that.

      And he waw endorsed for this role by Angus Taylor. Good job Angus, well done.
