      ‘Hottest day of the year’ really should not be a newsworthy statement in Spring or Summer.

      If it’s the hottest day of the year in November, then yes, that would be news.

      Otherwise it’s just how seasons work.

      Its always hotter than X, why do they always say this, somewhere is always hotter than somewhere else. Just say the temperature.

      Warmer than Seychelles? How many tennis courts is this? Also, is it hottest day of the whole year or so far?

      I don’t understand how when it gets unseasonably hot just once people seem to come out of hiding wanting to sit directly in the sunlight burning themselves as if they are a roast chicken.
      People like myself have conditions that give us increase sensitivity to heat so when heatwaves happen it hurts…like alot
