    1. I know it’s the Chaser, but don’t most migrants who want to stay long term share our values? The ones who don’t are either here for uni or the culture shock is to much and head off.

    2. How on earth is this controversial or partisan. Im a centre left but still believe some values don’t belong in Australia, if you’re an immigrant and you want to bring sharia law (just as one example) to Australia then you should not be allowed to become a PR or citizen. I don’t want all the work done to give right to women or lgbt or whoever undone.

Just say you want to bring back a White Australia policy and stop trying to straddle the fence between One Nation voters and right-leaning Labor voters.

I must admit I get very angry when Indian immigrants come here and don’t like Chinese dumplings or Vietnamese Pho. Assimilate dammit!

I don’t get how countries like USA and Australia that are so young almost all white people are 3rd or 2nd generation immigrants can be so hostile to new immigration…?

    6. Ah yes, their well known 1950’s values of bigotry, homophobia, misogyny, and racism.

Little wonder Tony Abbott was elected president of the Liberal Party.

    7. They really mean the Melanin per square millimetre value, why do you think big choccy has to regurgitate right talking points as nauseum? Because he’s scared of being deported

How do we currently monitor values inside a house? We don’t seem to care that men with outwardly “Australian” values and patriotism bash and kill women and children within a household environment.

From a universal perspective the needle wouldn’t even move in India if 30 milion Indians immigrated to Australia yet would completely unweave every facet of Australia has to offer. And facets are being shown now with finances being circulated in a secular manner and work place culture being replaced. Now with that thought and the aging population, the super withdrawal and downward pressure on the pension and tax system Australia’s aggressive immigration will continue, yet at what expense!?

I often see people, on posts like this, talk about how “immigrants from XYZ countries are homophobic/transphobic etc.” or other things like that, meanwhile our politicians are actively and loudly homophobic and transphobic.

What are our values as Australians? Is it just that the only time it’s okay to be trans or homophobic is if you’re white and born here?

Would these be the same values that members of parliament from your party held when they extorted half a million Australians for money, and the same values that three of the last four prime ministers from your party held when they attended the funeral of someone who, at best, spent a decade protecting who knew were paedophiles, and the same values members of parliament from your party held when they attempted to cover up a rape, and the same values that members of parliament from your party held when they decided to indefinitely detain innocent children?
