Nothing beats watching British and other European tourists in Spain tangle with the Guardia Civil. You get one clear warning…that’s it. Mouth off, start lecturing about your rights, or refuse to follow instructions, and the baton comes out fast.
The EU talks a big game about harmony and uniformity, but anyone who travels regularly quickly learns that police culture varies enormously across countries. In the UK, officers will often stand there for an hour while you insult them. In Spain, that approach won’t fly. Don’t test them, you won’t like the outcome.
It’s like everyone beats them no matter where they go, even countries that hate Israel. Maybe there’s an issue with the flotilla people?

Clearly this incident calls for a worldwide response consisting of condemnation of the existence of Spain and harassment of Spanish nationals, or even anyone of Spanish ethnicity. Oh wait, that’s only for Jews.
