      Absolutely mid wings
Can walk into parra and get them in 10 mins
Menu needs to be re written so it’s easier to order

    2. But but… there’s other Wing Stops open already… with no line

    3. dreadpiratewombat on

It’s definitely not worth waiting for.  In the US, Wingstop is mid at best.  Elsewhere it’s even less impressive.

    4. Something to help keep the Ashfield resident’s mind distracted from the latest escalator outage ?

    5. For some reason, i tried to like it, been there twice, but I still go with Wingboy

    6. K_the_Banana-man on

the wingstop here at parra are deadass full of larpers

wings aint it and the spicy ones hit but only for a moment

    7. They’re average, fast food style.

Considering there’s not that many places that sell chicken wings in Australia I can understand the hype. Though there’s already one at Kings Cross that’s been running for a while

As an American living here, this is bizarre. Wingstop is mid at best. I legitimately don’t understand this reaction to anything American. The best stuff isn’t even opening here.

There is a Wingstop in Kings Cross. Its better than KFC but more expensive.

At the store pictured they are offering:
      – free wings for up to a year for the first 10 people in line.
      – free t-shirt for the first 50 in line.
      – 5 free wings for the first 300 people in line.

Are these people getting paid to create hype? Nobody in their right mind would actually do this… Right?

    11. Wing Stop is pretty average honestly. They’re pretty common in Mexico and yeah, not worth it even without having to line up

    12. rob_the_plug on

Huh? I was in Ashfield at lunch and there was one person in line. Why in the world would people queue overnight…

    13. Resident-Raise-2470 on

At least the people who camped out at Ashfield seemed calm, unlike at the Parramatta opening, when 2 men tried to push in after seeing the first few people in line go to the toilet and grab a quick breakfast.

The thing about wings literally anywhere is going to be the sauce and given that this is a big chain, the sauce is being made out of house.

There’s not a chef back there whipping up the wing sauce daily.

Their whole thing is that every order is going to be the same which means the sauce comes in bulk in a jug or a bag and it’ll be just fine, but it’s not going to blow you away.

      it’s just wings

Second in line for Wing Stop and all I had to do was miss 8 days of work!

    16. Love2readalot on

Visited the Parramatta one near my office, Overhyped overrated & overpriced, just average chicken with too much sauce, portions were small for wot you pay, but you can refill your drink, so that was ok, wouldn’t go back.

    17. JustCirclingBack on

The Kings Cross one had lines for weeks. Was wild. I don’t eat meat so I’ve never been. Surely it’s not worth the hype though.

    18. There are literally no wings in the world that I would line up for, let alone overnight

    19. I live in the US. Most wingstops are sandwiched between a grimy old pawn shop and a 99c store, and are often magnets for panhandling homeless. This is weird behavior Sydney.

    20. Struggling to think of a worse use of your time than lining up to spend your money on fast food.

    21. Constant-Tree7055 on

Ok free wings for the first 10 people in line. Even as a vegetarian I can ALMOST see the appeal of that. However, once I saw that I was not in the first 10 I would be promptly heading home.

Waiting in line is not worth the free tshirt for the first 50 or 5 free wings for the first 300.

    22. Tried once at at their Parramatta store. Got Spicy Korean flavour and lemon pepper. The wings were tiny. Spicy Korean flavour was nothing Korean and smelled like vinegar. Lemon pepper was ok-ish but thr wings were too dried.

      Wont go back.

      Overpriced and full of teens.

Wingboy is much better than this one with 25% less of the price.

    23. Given Ashfield is in close proximity to Strathfield, where you can get absolute fire Korean Fried Chicken, I assume this is just a bunch of micro-influencers looking to get the first dibs on content.

    24. Routine-Individual43 on

Nah I’m pretty sure these are just people lining up to walk up the Ashfield mall escalators after another breakdown

    25. UpbeatBeach7657 on

Ah, the TikTokification of the food scene where FOMO is created around meh/okay items.

    26. Wingstop tastes like shit, it’ll die out like 5 guys did when people realise that.

    27. DryPreference7991 on

Isn’t taking photos of strangers so you can post it online to mock them way sadder than lining up for food?

    28. Just another classic instance of Oz obsessively importing the worst of American culture

    29. FantasticHomework978 on

These people seriously need to re-evaluate their lives. Camping outside? There is a store at Kings Cross, that’s been open for a while now
now, its located very close to the train station. You can get them there. No queues.

    30. Where is it? There’s one in Parramatta, next to the library. Always have a lot of young people hanging around there, but don’t seem to be queueing for the wings.

    31. GarunixReborn on

Wingstop lives off hype and bandwagons. Their chicken is decent but absolutely a ripoff.
